Hi all,

My wife our 4 yr old boy and myself will be moving to Helena in July 2011. We are looking for rental accommodations and I am currently looking for a job, I can do just about anything in construction, such as, framing, concrete, roofing, painting, drywall, and anything in between. Forklift operator, have an operators ticket. Articulating loader operator. Vehicle repairs. I am open to learning anything new.

Please help!

Thank you kindly

Chad, Lynn and Drayden

Is there anyhing in particular you would like to know? Asking for everybody to tell you everything isn't going to work. You can get onto the Montana Jobs website and look to see if jobs are available.

What made you pick Helena? Family friends there?

Take a look at this portion of City Data, it might give you some ideas on rentals and it will give you all the demographics of Helena.

Thank you responding and sending me the information.

I wanted to get an early start on looking for a job and accommodations and be well prepared for th move in July.

I am registered with monster jobs and have been looking at various job sites and no luck finding anything in construction, alot of medical, home security, sales, jobs which are not suited for me.

I picked Helena because I will need to be near a Govt office for Immigration as I have to get my papers in order for a Canadian work permit and I lost my ID's, I am thinking that I may have to reside in Helena for about 7 months or so, our son would attend Kindergarten for the 1st semester.

My wife has family in Browning and the smaller towns, my family in mainly in NY State which is too far for us to go at this point and time.

If my initial post sounds like I am asking for someone to do all this for me...it's not what I meant.

Thank you.

Chad

Now it makes perfect sense. haha Your first post made it sound like you threw a dart at Montana and Helena won.

Here's a website you might try. Montana Jobs

My experience on construction jobs is that when a project is planned, they normally have a core group that will travel to do the job. Above and beyond that, they might advertise for a specialty position. But most of the jobs are people walking up and saying, "Who's in charge, I'm looking for work."

I wouldn't travel without something lined up though. Specially in July. All the major construction jobs are already in full progress and probably have full crews.

On this site, you can get a list of Highway jobs that will be going on State Wide. You might find something around Helena and be able to contact them early.

Good luck.

check in the wiliston ND area for jobs in your field, lots of openings because of the oil, many are working over there with the families staying in Montana.
Good luck, it is a tough time to have a young family, let us know how it is going.
