I would like to know from anyone out there, what do you think about Lakeside Montana?

the goods the bads, the ups the down?

the seasons, the people, the churches, the schools, the teachers, the housing?

the views, the animals to watch out for?

the grocery stores, the access to needed things?

anything?

It's real close to a small newer downhill ski area. It is a so called "nicer" town in a way like Bigfork or Whitefish. Many well off people and high property prices. I think the highest property taxes in the state are in the Lakeside area. There is a good little breakfast place there, a decent small grocery store and a hardware store. Good views of the lake from homes and businesses but no public lakefront parks.

Sorry for the long post upfrontRickers is right in that there are some, maybe alot ,of wealthy people here ,but most of that is around the lake,or up in the hills with veiws of the lake ,just like you would find around any lake,it seems the prices are so high thats all that can afford to live along there. All the other people are middle to low income im betting ,even tho the price of land and homes have sky rocketed.we bought 17 acres in 98 and paid 60,now you wont see ANYTHING in that price range.example is a five acre piece down the rd,with water, and power for 189! and thats on the low end.as far as the town goes,it has about everthing you need in a pinch, grocries, dentist, doctor, hardware, gas, post office. churches that i know of is ,babtist, luthern, jehovah witness, and a little chapel that i cant think of at the moment. we dont have kids in school but i know one of the neighbors is real involved in that area, and says says its great. for high school the kids go to kalispel. The weather is milder on this side of the lake, compared to the otherside where we lived before and got much more snow. And animals, well lots of deer! and depending how far up in the woods you go,black bear, elk, moose, and mountain lion.we have seen all of the above.hope that helps some

I don't understand the big draw to Lakeside all of a sudden. I can't believe the Big Fork prices for nice little Lakeside. Granted, some of the places have a lake view but (thankfully for the people living there) it's not nearly a resort town that people are clammering to visit, or did I miss something last week when I drove through?

No you didnt miss anything. Its a nice little community but nothing special at all. not even the cute little stores that Big Fork has. It is a short run to town for here, and i guess it is all the land that surrounds it,theres alot of it,and most does have a veiw of either lake or mts. i agree tho ,way over priced
