What she says she wants, is a salon that is exclusively for Black hair and hair styles. When they don't get to practice those hair styles, students that got a couple of days handling Black hair are not going to meet what she wants. Black hair styles in the city, are a lot different than what even the average Black person wears in Montana.

un-called for and completely non-welcoming. Hopefully the state isn't full of people like you.

I completely agree with you on that. I'm not asking for an entire salon catered to African American/Ethnic hair, was just asking if anyone knew of any salons/stylists who had any experience with different hair textures such as that. Thanks so much!

I was thinking the same thing... That is why I didn't reply to that statement. However, I did want to thank him for replying to my initial post (and did say that I've checked google as he did- with the same results. I also called most of those advertised shops- they let me know that they didn't have any experienced people with what I was looking for and referred me to Tangles)

In my initial post, I said:
"I don't need an ENTIRE hair salon catered to ethnic hair but perhaps just 1 or 2 stylists that have good experience with African American hair in any salon? I'm not quite sure that I'll be able to find this but I figured that I'd give it a shot here anyway! Thanks so much in advance!!"

I'm glad you found what you were looking for! Missoula is a good little community. If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Easy on the EH Toolbag... He's had a rough couple of weeks.

A part of what is bad about our view of outsiders is the idea that just because a comment isn't what YOU might think it should be and YOU think it is out of line, doesn't mean it isn't a good representation of the local sentiment...

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have an idea about what things are REALLY like when considering a move to a new area, instead of a fluffy idea of what someone thinks it should be, only to find out after moving that I should have done more research because I hate the place...

just sayin'
