Yeah it did. But so far, it's ok. It will sway one way or the other and then come back. We'll see what happens. If need be, we'll shut it down.

Sorry about that. That was my fault. Was making a correlation between that group and how they want to change things in every state, not just Montana.

Moving on...

You are doing fine. We love the way Montana is and will defend it til we die. But we also have to allow that others will want to come in here. We just want to make sure that they come in here to live the Montana Life. Not come in here to set up things and say, "well, this is how we did it back in xxxx." You didn't come here to keep the tradition you had "back Home". You came here because you liked what you saw. Don't change it. You liked it for a reason.

My sentiments exactly. And I mean exactly. The reason I want to get away from Minneapolis is because I don't like the way the people here live. I'm a small town guy and want to live around people with those values. If I like a place enough to want to live there, I'm going to be a wallflower and learn how things are done and then quietly blend in.

What you said is the same reason Americans make the worst tourists. I know, I've lived in Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Ireland, Africa and the West Indies. Far too many Americans go on vacation and bring their culture, their rights, their laws and their habits and expect to be catered to. Unfortunately, many people move from state to state with the same mindset. No respect or deference given to the the folks whose home they're moving into. It just doesn't click with them because their focus is on themselves and not everyone involved.

thomas paine is on a distinguished road
To address one of the postings, taxes increase unemployment. This is an absolute fact. Lower taxes provide people with more money to spend or invest. Both times our government cut taxes, revenues increased dramatically. Europe has high taxes and structural unemployment that is way above ours. Second, government is the single most intrusive force over individual liberty and the major cause of conflict. No, the answer is clearly not found in taxes or more government, but rather through capitalism and the free market. Look, you cannot have an industrious society that is based on 70% consumption, but rather you will have a service society. I think people are finally waking up to the fact that if you don't produce, you become too dependent on others.

Now I get to become a tourist. The company is sending me away. Last week, they said Eqypt. Then, yesterday, they said Taiwan. Oh well, the money is good so I really don't care which. haha Would rather it was a small town in South Dakota, but a big city in Taiwan will work for now.

Just have a great time, wherever you end up. The best way to ensure that you aren't one of the horrible, American tourists is to try to speak the native language. The worst things Americans do is start speaking in English without asking if the person they're speaking to understands English. YouTube has a funny example.

WikiTravel has a great, free, online Taiwanese phrasebook.
Examples:
Hello - * Li huh -- literally, "you good?"
Do you know how to speak English? - * Li gah-ay hyow gong eng-yee
Is there someone here who speaks English? - Jiah gah oo * lahng ay hyow gong eng-yee
I don't understand - Wah tyah bo

I'm lucky in that I speak Mandarin Chinese fluently. Worked with Taiwan Navy for several years and they taught me well. Was sure glad they changed me from Egypt to Taiwan. I don't speak farsy. hahahaha At least I can screw up my face and speak Chinese.

Whew! Then I don't have to worry about you asking for ketchup to put on your Tea Eggs.
