I will be moving to Montana June 1st, 2011. I will be working in Sweetgrass/Sunburst and need a place to rent. 3/4 Bedroom would be nice so I could bring the family, but if I have to leave them behind then thats what I have to do.

All info is appriciated.

Thanks

Here is something I posted in an earlier Shelby thread:

There are 2 people who own over 200 rentals combined.

Joan Stewart(406-460-0718) and Jim Anderson(406-424-8000)

We are moving out of a very nice 4 bedroom home at the end of January. It is owned by Joan. She may hold it until April. There are 3 Realtors in town: High Plains(434-5230, Brenda Longcake), East Slope(279-3333), and Bootlegger (434-2001, Dennis Demert). They usually have nothing but one and two bedrooms available, but you never know.

As far as decent homes for rent all I can say is good luck; there are many people waiting for the "nicer" homes to open up. They are usually rented by word of mouth. But I don't know your definition of nice!

You don't need to worry about the areas, I mean there are nice areas, but they are all safe as the next in Shelby. There is one hospital(Marias Medical Center Shelby Montana) Marias Medical Center. There are 2 schools; Shelby Elementary and Shelby Highs School. They are on the same property right next to each other(Shelby Public Schools).

This site has some really nice panoramic views of Shelby(Shelby_Montana_Pictures)

As far as activities go, lots of outdoors stuff, lots of churches(it thats your thing), only an hour from Glacier National Park. You have to remember Shelby is in the middle of nowhere too. It only has a population of appx. 3500 folks, so activities are limited! Check out the City of Shelby website as well, it list a lot of youth and adult activities, as well as all the utilities you will need(City of Shelby)

I hope you're not a big fan of good food either! Shelby is the home to the worlds worst food, IMO. All there is is Pizza Hut, Subway, and 5 locally owned restraunts that are not very good; The Dixie Inn, Ringside Ribs, Sports Club, Truck stop restaurant, and The Griddle. The Griddle has great breakfast, but not much else worth trying! There is one movie theater in town on Main Street, that shows one movie weekly 3 times a day. There are 5 banks, with Wells Fargo being the only national one. 2 grocery stores, a small Albertsons and a locally owned one called Blazers(no named brand stuff, but better meat than Albertsons, IMO).

Hope some of this helps, I have lots of information, just ask away if you think of anything. If you find a home to rent, I could snap a few pics and send them to you(Someone did the same for me when I moved here...THANKS RICKERS!!!)

Update...The home we moved out of has been rented. There are quite a few folks looking for 3+ bedroom homes right now. Apparently none are available.
