I will be working in Billings , I know it's an hr. to work on a good day from where I will be living about 1/2 way between Bridger and Roberts. I've made the trip several times enjoying the sights along the way. Having the opportunity for work in Billings my wife and I have searched the out lying areas for the past two yrs. We finally committed to buying a home in this area. All the people we met so far seem genuine and friendly. The scenery is beautiful and Bridger has a fine Steak House. We havent really checked Roberts too close and we have also been to Red Lodge on several occasions. Not near as tourist driven as Red Lodge , Bridger seems a nice quaint town. The area appears to be rich in wildlife and there seems to be good opportunities to fish. Is anyone familiar with the area and could you provide the pro's and cons of living there ? Thanks in advance ..... Paul

Grew up there.... so I am bias. I can't say that there is much cons really... wind always blows, it can get pretty dry and hot in the summer, the river sometimes drops to extremely low flows in the summer as the Clarks Fork is designated for agricultural use first.

There is a game reserves north east of town that you can hunt/fish on, one gas station is open 24/7. One bar is open every day of the year. Ya have two places to eat at. We just got a brand new Cenex Town & Country store, there is a hardware store, auto parts store, a local mechanic, and like you said you are 1 hour away from Billings..... far enough away to stay out of the hussle and bussle, but can get their fast if need be.

I would say the only down fall of getting to billings is driving 212 between Rockvale and Laurel. Your better off just to follow the speed limit, and if ya get stuck behind someone just stay there ... don't pass. There has been alot of accidents on that highway cause by people in a hurry and passing when they shouldn't.

Welcome
