  • An officer spoke to a man whose small sons were riding gas-powered motorcycles on the neighborhood sidewalks.
  • A caller reported a salesperson who said he was selling Kleenex came to his door late at night. Officers performed extra patrols in the area.
  • A man asked officers to check his ID because a bouncer thought it was fake.
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office reports for Friday included the following:
  • A man reported that his neighbor’s black lab keeps getting loose, coming in through his doggie door, terrorizing his cat and tearing up his house.
  • Deputies responded to Hyalite Canyon Road for a report of smoke in the area. They met with Forest Service officials and learned that personnel were already on the fire and there was no need for evacuations or warnings.

  • An officer went with a landlord who was trying to evict a tenant. The tenant was not home, but the property was a mess inside.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office reports for Thursday included the following:

  • Multiple callers complained about a low-flying aircraft near Quiet Water Way.
  • A man reported that his neighbor came over to his house. When he opened the door, the neighbor handed him a note and then shoved him.
  • A man said his 17-year-old daughter called him and said her 14-year-old brother took a swing at her with a baseball bat.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office reports for Wednesday included the following:
  • A woman reported that a vehicle hit her car. When she asked the driver for his insurance, the man swore at her and said it wasn’t his problem.
  • A man said his neighbor’s dogs damaged a car parked in his yard. Deputies weren’t able to determine that the dogs damaged the vehicle but did see that the car cover was torn.
  • People at the Hood Creek campground were causing “major problems,” a caller said. They were intoxicated and belligerent.
  • A group of workers in Logan had very loud music. It woke up the caller’s infant.

The Bozeman Police Department reports for Thursday included the following:
  • A man was acting strange earlier in the night. He broke into the back of a kitchen and was kicked out and then he showed up at the front door.
  • Two intoxicated men were heading down Main Street. One appeared to have an ankle injury. He told the caller he was injured when he was run over by a vehicle on Rouse Avenue earlier.
  • Potted plants were dumped out of their planters on Main Street.
  • A man wanted to talk to an officer about some signs left in front of his house that he thought his neighbor might have put there.
  • A caller said someone posted naked pictures of them on Facebook.
  • A raccoon was in a dumpster on Church Avenue. The animal was captured and transported to a safe location outside the city.
  • A bat was removed from a Grand Avenue home and released in a safe location.
  • A caller found bags containing a white crystal substance in a laundry room.
  • A man thought he heard someone by his door. He then said he misheard and everything was fine.
  • Officers responded to 201 calls for service.

The Bozeman Police Department reports for Tuesday included the following:
  • A business owner was concerned because someone put a “road closed” sign on the street in front of her business.
  • Two black sheep were roaming a golf course.
  • A transient went into a Main Street business, admitted to sleeping on the porch and demanded a blanket.
  • An officer checking on a dog said the animal had water and looked healthy, but there was an excessive amount of feces in the area.
  • An ATV rolled off the trailer that was carrying it. Nothing was damaged, but the owners were warned for failing to properly secure the ATV.
  • A woman called to report hearing something going on in front of her Cherry Drive home. She wasn’t sure if someone was skateboarding, moving something around or trying to get into a vehicle.
  • A woman who had a tire come off her car while she was driving to work had a friend come help her fix it. The friend pointed out that someone had removed the lug nuts from two of her tires. The woman had a suspect in mind.
  • Officers responded to 147 calls for service.
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office reports for Tuesday included the following:
  • A home’s security camera showed an unknown man drinking beer in the house.
  • A caller wanted deputies to know about the group Music Lives Here that is having a large party in Gallatin County next month.
  • A naked woman was dancing with a teddy bear in the middle of the road.
  • A woman who was out gardening thought her neighbor was shooting a pellet gun or a slingshot at a tree in her yard.
  • A man at a campground was harassing other campers and trying to buy beer.
  • Deputies responded to 98 calls for service.

  • An officer stopped and warned a man for breaking a bar glass against a wall.
  • A man was stopped and warned for riding a skateboard down the middle of the street in the wrong direction.
  • A woman said an officer made false accusations against her. She said she was heading east on Lamme Street and the officer said she didn’t stop at a stop sign at an intersection. The woman said the stop signs are for north-south traffic, not east and west.
  • A baggie with white powder was found in a parking lot on Babcock Street.
  • Three people were warned for playing Frisbee in a park and urinating in public.
  • A caller reported that neighbors on Emily Drive smoke pot a lot.
  • Officers responded to 159 calls for service.
The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office reports for Wednesday included the following:
  • Some neighbors’ friends have been “trolling” on the caller’s property.
  • A caller was concerned about kids jumping off the Erwin Bridge because there are “big belly” dump trucks driving through. The caller was worried the trucks will hit the kids.
  • A large snake was dead in the middle of Baxter Lane.
  • A man was seen looking through mailboxes on Meadow Creek Road. When approached, he said he was taking pictures of the mailboxes for the bank.
  • A woman’s neighbor threatened to send out her pit bull to attack the woman’s cat.
  • Deputies responded to 111 calls for service.

  • A very large bear was in a Cleveland Street carport eating garbage. The woman reporting the animal said she scared it away before officers arrived.
  • A couple camping in their van at Walmart got into a dispute. The two were separated and the man slept elsewhere for the night.
  • A 25-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving after he was found passed out in the front of his truck with the keys in the ignition and the stereo and lights on.
  • A man stole two MP3 players from a Seventh Avenue business and fled in a car.
  • A woman reported that someone was ordering pizzas and charging her bank account.
  • A man called with questions about letting an underage girl stay with him.
  • Two men who seemed intoxicated were shooting bows on the sidewalk on Gallatin Green Boulevard.
  • Officers responded to 142 calls for service.

  • A cat had a fishhook in its mouth. The woman who called said she was taking it to a veterinarian.
  • A caller wanted to talk to someone about new people in the neighborhood who were violating water rights.

  • An assault rifle was stolen from an unlocked vehicle while it was parked at a bowling alley.
  • A naked man with a mustache who was wearing a yellow hat was just standing in a parking lot.
  • A woman’s roommates put all her stuff on the front lawn with a free sign. She is now missing many items.
  • Officers responded to 130 calls for service.

  • A man received a threatening text message from a woman that said, “be ready.”
  • A caller expressed concerns after seeing a possibly intoxicated girl walking on Huffine Lane. She was “out of it” and walked in front of cars. Deputies were unable to locate the girl.
  • A man who was parked near a gravel pit entrance said he was between homes and was an employee of the gravel pit and had permission to park there overnight.
  • A person reported a roommate moved out and took things that didn’t belong to him such as a video game system, video games, bear spray and possibly more items.
  • A horse was reportedly running loose near Love Lane. Deputies could not find the animal.
  • Deputies responded to 133 calls for service.

For last Monday.....

The Bozeman Police Department reports for Monday included the following:
  • A very intoxicated, moaning woman was trying to get in the back door of a Bozeman Avenue home at 2 a.m.
  • Drunken people were boxing in a Koch Street parking lot at 2:55 a.m.
  • An 18-year-old man was arrested for criminal trespass after banging on a home’s door and trying to get into the house.
  • Multiple vehicles had their tires slashed near Black Avenue and Olive Street.
  • A suspicious package was found in a restaurant’s parking lot. The package turned out to be a bunch of duct tape around a brick of Styrofoam.
  • A man shot a rabbit with a compound bow. He said the rabbit had been wounded by a dart from a blowgun and he was putting the rabbit down humanely.
  • A woman reported that her vehicle was running in the morning but she hadn’t started it.
  • Officers responded to a possible drug deal taking place at a local store after a caller saw people exchanging large sums of money. The people were gone when officers arrived.
  • Two young kids were reportedly riding mo-peds on Madrona Lane at high rates of speed and playing on dirt piles.
  • A man wanted to know what he should do after losing his wallet 10 minutes ago. Officers told him to look where he had it last. If it wasn’t there, make a report.
  • A caller said his ex-roommate came over to the house to talk. When the caller said he didn’t want to talk, the ex-roommate punched a hole in the wall.
  • A woman reported that her daughter had lied to her. The daughter told her mom she was staying at a friend’s house but she was actually going to a hotel to meet a boy.
  • Officers responded to 105 calls for service.



The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office reports for Monday included the following:

  • A person was chasing horses while riding a four-wheeler.
  • A man’s soon-to-be-ex-wife threatened to break into his gun safe.
  • People on River Rock Road were shooting arrows at a target placed on the other side of the road.
  • A caller saw a man poach a deer with a rifle on Law Road.
  • A man’s stepdaughter was out past curfew and not returning his calls. Deputies contacted the teenager, who refused to divulge her location and was not cooperative.
  • Two people were found after dark in the backseat of a truck at Axtell Bridge fishing access. They were instructed to find somewhere else to engage in their romantic endeavors.
  • Deputies responded to 195 calls for service.
