I will be spending 2 weeks in Glacier National Park in early August this year. I really would just like to read about people's experiences while hiking, camping, backpacking, etc in GNP. With other places I've visited it's been pretty easy to just cruise the internet and find these experiences, but I haven't had such luck with Glacier. Any idea if there are any forums, websites, etc, that might be a good start? Of you can share any on here if you'd like.

I am in my late 20's, avid for the outdoors and would rather be around as few people as possible when in nature and I've seen that learning about other people's travel is a great way to be prepared for your own. Thanks!

Hello and welcome!
Here is my go to site for the parks. Official State of Montana Vacation, Recreation, Accommodations and Travel Information Website

Look it over and keep posting, just remember that the weather can change and will quickly. IMO the most beautiful park in the nation.

Bring bear spray...

McDonald Lodge is a spectacular place to stay, but avoid the annex. Ridiculously small rooms.

Glacier is a spiritually powerful landscape, one that possesses a limitless capacity to inspire, renew and uplift the human psyche and soul. The park is jawdroppingly beautiful in any season and you should find the first two weeks of August to be the best overall weather for summer backpacking.

Autumn, however, is a season that must be truly savored. Witness the daily transformation of the aspen as they assume their electrifying cloaks of yellow, orange and red. Hear the elk bugling in the canyons, a signature sound of wilderness that you will never forget. And, if the weather is accommodating, experience crisp, cool days and brilliant, blue skies. If you are supremely fortunate, a fresh dusting of snow will put the finishing touches on this already picture-perfect landscape. A fall-foliage excursion to Glacier may well prove to be one of the most profoundly moving events in your life.

No snow at Apgar in West Glacier

Went for a hike instead though. We'll be here til Monday, so worst of the storm should be over when we drive back.
