And I'd like to know where you're gettin' propane that cheap! Last year for a while it was something like $3.85/gallon.

Anyone got any saltcedar (tamarisk) handy? That stuff makes easy-cutting firewood. If it weren't that MT classes it as an invasive species, there might be more of it (used to be planted for windbreaks). It grows at an amazing rate, 20 feet in a year and big clumps of branches (you can't call what it grows 'trunks') big enough to burn within 2 years. Dies back whenever the weather is bad (too cold, too dry, too hot) and then you can cut all the nicely dried tops down to the ground. Next spring the tree comes right back and grows just as big as before. I used to get a cord or two every year off just one tree. And that's with no water but what little is in the desert. Water 'em and they'll get 100 feet tall and eat passing children.

Hmmmm. That last bit is tempting. Know where I can get a coupl'a' saplings?

I think we paid about $1.95 / gal in August to fill our tank.. I'm at 70% full, so hope it lasts til at least February, lol.

jUST AVGERAGED OUT MY "all_electric hOME COSTS for last 12 months, for heating house (2150 sq ft plus garage at 788 sq feet), plus 12 outside floods, 1 H.P. submersible pump for all water needs --pump up from 88 feet down in 6 " casing & pressure tank has cut-out of 65 psi. All appliances are electric also.

Avg monthly bill is $131. REA is source. keep house at 68 to 70 F

I figure I'm in no position to gripe.
