I thought TT had announced bison a couple years ago? I might be mistaken.

He has his own chain of restaurants that serve buffalo meat. I think the only one in Montana is in Bozeman.

The gate was closed at 5 miles in-we were very bummed because we could not hike-but it was cool to see all of the bison.

I checked the FS web site after we got back-they said that the road was closed due to muddy conditions, which was ridiculous. The road was dry and dusty-it has been in the 70-80's for days.

Check before you head up there, and BTW beware of major construction on US 191 near Lava Lake trailhead-there are 20-30 minute delays.

Sure a lot of difference in the snowpack from last year; this is how Blaze Mountain looked middle of June '11.
