Default Hi-speed internet in Florence

I am moving to Florence in August and am curious to any recommendations for an internet provider. I have checked with CenturyLink and they said they do not provide service to the address. Any other ideas or suggestions?

Try Optimum? Aside from that, your only options are satellite companies.

If people in Florence have Cell phones, there is another alternative.

My internet is through Verizon, but several cell providers offer it. You can either go with a Cell Stick that plugs into a USB port, or go with MIFI, which is a small cell device, smaller than most phones, and when it is on, it provides WIFI to 5 devices at the same time. Both are broadband. It's 4G so it's pretty darn fast. The MIFI device runs $49 a month where I live.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will look into both options. I have heard negatives as far as internet via satellite (cost, upload or download speed-can't remember which) and am only vaguely familiar with MiFi.

There is one other alternative. Upgrade your cell phone to one that is a mobile hotspot and it will do what a MIFI does. Cost is about the same, but data packages are different. MIFI is 5gig and 10gig. My neighbor checked into it and Mobile Hotspot was 3gig, 5 gig, and 8 gig. But that was their company. Worth checking out.

Living in the Bitterroot myself, I have spoken with several individuals who plan to start petitions to bring more fiber optic lines into our area. Surprisingly, only about 55% of valley residents have internet, due to limited area availability. I'd say we're about due for a boost!
