Default The Bakken and why MT is not in play

I decided to register to clear up some misconceptions about why ND gets the lions share of the oil play.

1) Taxes. Taxes are actually cheaper to drill and produce in MT than ND, not the reverse which is commonly sited by posters.

2) Shale formation. Think of the BAAHKEN as a swimming pool. The deep end is in ND and the low end is in MT, hence it makes more sense to drill in the deep end.

3) Politics. The west end of the state, with the lions share of the money and people not to mention all the "California" refugees think gas for there SUV's comes from planet make believe and see any form of drilling in beautiful Montana as Bad, bad, bad.

But don't worry Montana, with your governor, most of the leases in ND already sold, and high gas prices...the boom will hit you eventually, lets just hope Sidney doesn't turn into a Williston.

Sidney is already an oil boom town, with 7,500 large trucks a day going into and through town, and employees live in man camps or campers for a couple of weeks, then fly out to some town where their families live for a few days. If you want to stay in a motel in town, reserve it 2 months in advance.

This video, shows the life of the oil worker in Montana and North Dakota. Live in a so called man camp for a couple of weeks, then fly home to the family for a few days, then back to the man camp life.

LOL. "I can tell you what the worst thing is: it's a man camp, not a women camp." Classic.

Man I hope for your sake those California tree-huggers who've settled in your great state of Montana don't get control of it and probably turn it into another version of Greece just like they've done in their native state of California.

LOL! and then the boom comes down and whacks him on the head.

That mancamp video reminds me of nothing so much as a college campus, with manual labor instead of classes... well, there was ONE girl...
