Default College in Montana

My daughter is interested in going to the university in Missoula. She saw the brochure and automatically declared she loved it and doesn't want to go anywhere else. She's a relatively serious student and wants to study pharmacy. Any comments or words of wisdom on what life's like as a college student in Missoula?

I think that life as a student in Missoula is real good as long as Daddy is paying the bills. But for poor students who have to work a crappy job to pay for school as well as living expenses, life may not be all that sweet ! I think that hope for a better future is what keep those kids going.

Thanks for responding. What's Missoula like? Is it a big town? Is it really cold in the winter? Are there alot of places to work? I'm sure my daughter will have to work in order to pay tuition. She's my only daughter and we're from Illinois and it seems like such a faraway place. It sure looks beautiful and it seems like a really good school but I'd like to know more about the area. When you say it's definitely a college town - are kids drinking all the time- is it considered a party town? Can you avoid that part of it? I know I sound like a mother hen butI guess I am. Thanks for helping me find out more about the area.

Missoula is not really known as a party town for the students. But they happen. Missoula is more like the Seattle of the Rockys for its quaint shops and coffee houses. Read my other reply to your What's Missoula Like post.

I did my undergrad there in the not too distant past and Missoula is very much a party town. As Montanahog rider said, there is quaint coffee shops downton, however; there are also numerous bars and festivals downtown.

As I said, it's a college town.
