Stumbledupon announced Montana is most romantic state according to its 30 million users....Rhode Island, Wisconsin, North Dakota, & Vermont are next in line. Least romantic Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, & Alaska.

I was surprised Hawaii was missing from top 5.

They could mean this in the classical sense. From Websters defn 4) marked by the imaginative or emotional appeal of what is heroic, adventurous, remote, mysterious, or idealized

Since Rhode Island is number 2 on the list it is more likely defn 3) impractical in conception or plan.

That explains why North Dakota is on there. I wonder why Wyoming or Alaska aren't on there.

Since Broke Back Mountain came out, we're afraid to snuggle with anybody.

By what criteria?

As in romanticized by Hollywood I could agree with.

What a random top five.

The survey included questions like "what state would you like to be proposed to/like to propose to your intended, getted married, take honeymoon, or celebrate a wedding anniversary?".

Oh yes, I remember when my wife and I agreed to get married.

Soft lights coming through the window, sounds of birds in the air, the evening hush, our little house on the banks of the Yellowstone River....

Her knee in my kidney, my arm twisted up betwen my shoulder blades, her hand gently twisted in my hair pulling my head back so I could gasp out, "OK OK UNCLE!!! We'll do whatever you say!!!"

I guess I am just a sentimental old fool, but it still brings a tear to my eye when I think about it, or try to flex my shoulder too far

Been together 26 years now, still scared to death of the wrath of the She-Bear

Ahhh... romance ,,,, PHOOEY!!!!

Seems odd that Montana and Alaska are on different ends of the spectrum. If you asked most Montanans to compare their state to one other state, I would guess most would pick Alaska.
