All 17 pages
I viewed all 17 pages of this photo thread of Montana photos this evening.
Many thanks to all for taking the time to share your photos and thoughts, I traveled through Montana in 2006, and agree, its a beautiful state .
Just curious to anyone really familiar with Montana...which area has the mildest weather, including summer and winter?
Big Sky.

Firewood pics
It's that time of year again, load up the woodshed. Took these Saturday up in the Dry Creek area south of Livingston. The Fridley fire burned through here a few years ago and left a lot of fir dead. Would rather have it than pine to burn, even if it is kinda sooty to cut. Nice day, a little windy to keep saw chips and exhaust blowing away from me. Need to learn to always pack the little C-clamp camera mount along; had to perch the camera on a stump with a little rock to level it up.
Saw a young cow moose coming back out, she was a little skinny for this time of year, but looked healthy. Lots of mule deer around, and the chippies were busy everywhere. Had a lone crow stop by my cut; he spent a fair amount of time looking me over for a lunchbox before he swooped down and rode the wind looking close. I'm wise to that tactic and keep my feed closed up from crows and camp robbers.
One more load and I'm done with probably a cord left over next spring for seed. I always put in more than I need, "just in case..."

My honey and kids and I are looking into buying the Featherly residence. The Lumi Vista Bed and Breakfast in Ronan. Any pics of Ronan? What are the people like, the town, the jobs, the cost of living and so forth? We are coming from the HOT California state where it is October 23 and 100 degrees outside. We so want to experience real seasons, wilderness, small town living, and a snowy Christmas. We are considering traveling out to the see the Bed and Breakfast first hand and staying for a week. Anyone been out there? Any info is appreciated. We'll be looking for work too.

That is a small mountain goat of some sort. It was only about 2-3 feet tall.
Here's another one.

Thanks. Sometimes I am but it isn't my day job. Well at least not taking pictures like these. I usually stay around Lake McDonald and just go hiking. Here is one just walking around the shore.

Well they are really nice, and I appreciate photos being open for me since I do not want to burn out my eyes on something inappropriate. Think the ark of the covenant scene in Indiana Jones.
