The book, or the film?

What saved the film was the narration--which stayed fairly true to the book.

Nothing could save THW, though. Pure drivel. But Redford laughs all the way to the bank.

I didn't see the movie version of THW because I thought the book was the stupidest thing ever. Love Norman Maclean's ARRTI, though. Every time I read it I get something new from it. Also love his "Young Men and Fire." I got to step inside the actual airplane from the Mann Gulch tragedy, and I started crying.
