Thank you Griz for the update. I had my doubt's.

I have done some projects out in that general area and I absolutely hated it. 'But', another person may welcome the change from Eastern Montana. I grew up on the prairie of South Dakota and did everything I could to get the heck out of there. Too flat. Now days, I wouldn't mind having some of that good old black dirt back. If I stood in the farm yard and kicked up a pile of dirt, I had the biggest hill in three counties. Glad I found the mountains and real, tolerable humidity.

The constant high temps....85 to 98F coupled with the HIGH Humidity 85% to 95%--- were almost un bearable for him-----remember now he is a eastern Montana guy!!
The other aspects of the particular area were he was (Webster Springs), it has far to many snakes. He saw at least 12 Timber Rattlers while he was hiking around the Webster Springs area,...some up to 5 feet long.............and (8) a non-poisonous snakes called a Black Rat snake that were up to 7 feet long!!
He saw about half of these snakes in and around three very old out-buildings that were on the 10 acres.

Since he would have his bird dog with him (if he moved).......he decided:... No, this area was not for him.
He did mention that the locals that he met were quite friendly and he even was given a pint of some "LOCAL MOON SHINE" which he really liked!!
Well- that's one reason why we moved west- HUMIDITY. It is unbearable. Even if you've lived there all your life, it's still miserable. The snakes? The number of timber rattlers surprises me. I've only seen a handful in all the years I've been there, but that was father north and east. I did, however, have A LOT of copperheads. My coon hound finally ran them out after a year though, lol.

It is a pretty state though. I think he would have equally found winters to be inhospitable as well. Even compared to Eastern Montana. The snow there is heavy, thick and heavy. The air is damp and cold.
