I'm moving to Billings this summer and I have searched the forum for info, primarily on cell service, and while most threads were older, Verizon seems to be the dominant player with the best coverage, is that correct?

I currently have Comcast for cable tv, internet, and voip home phone service. I'm not sure if I want to maintain that same setup when I move, but who are the providers in Billings? Comcast is there, but are there others that are better?

Any help would be appreciated.

Verizon is reliable for most of Montana, definitely Billings and along the Interstate corridors. By far the best deal is to buy a Costco membership and then buy phone & service at Verizon kiosk inside Costco.

Is this still the case that Verizon is best for Billings? What about Cricket? I currently have t-mobile and am moving to Billings - no service out here so I have to switch but Verizon is so much more expensive than I am used to!
Thanks

Do not believe the cell coverage maps!
There is no cell phone provider that covers 95% of Montana. Even the best (Verizon, IMO) probably only covers 75%.
In and near larger cities and towns, and along the freeway corridors (I-90, I-15, and I-94) coverage is pretty good. Many areas in the Western mountains have spotty or non-existent coverage. Vast areas of the Eastern High Plains have no coverage.
It has been getting better.
Since we live out-of-town, we do not have cable tv. Instead, we have a ROKU, which gives us Netflix and more others than I have bothered to count. That service has about an $18 per month price tag.
Our internet service is from Wispwest, via a dish pointed at a tower about 10 miles away. It isn't the fastest in the world, but it is adequate to our needs. The cost of that is $42.45 per month.
We also do not have city water or sewer, and no natural gas service.
BUT, we do have electricity!

Thank you. I will be in Billings itself. The complex provides basic cable, and apparently my internet choices are Charter and Century Link only. I appreciate the reply.
