My husband has been offered a job in two different places, Whitefish and Great Falls. I have only driven through Whitefish, and never been to Great Falls.

Could any of you please give me some thorough details about these areas? The pros, cons, and everything in between?

I'm currently in Polson and ready to make a move for something better. Both job offers are solid, but I need to know more about these cities before the big decision is made. We have planned two separate trips to check them out.

Thank you.

Personally, I like Great Falls. They have a couple of real nice sporting goods stores there

It is windy, can be pretty cold, located out on the prarie, but you have the Sun and Missouri Rivers as well as Giant Springs right in town.

The people I know up there are good folks, I have never had any problems with anybody in the stores or on the street while I was there, however, they have some CRAZY drivers and Montana Ave is a tough way to get around.

My friends that live there love it, I will also add though that there is a large transient population because of the air base.

Couple of pretty good eateries up there to you might want to check out.

Not my favorite town in the state, but not my least favorite either.

I don't know much about the city taxes or cost of the garbage service or how much the water bill is.

Good Luck!

I would choose Great Falls for the same reasons MTSilvertip listed.

I'm partial to Whitefish with the lakes and ski area. I've visited Great Falls several times and am starting to like it. Although I don't care for the wind, it wouldn't be a complete deal breaker. For me, it'd come down to the people I'd be working for and with.

Do you have kids?
