Retiring in Helena area (Bozeman, Belgrade: real estate, home, established neighborhood)

My hubby & I are seriusly considering retiring to the Helena area in the next 2 years. Our daughter & son-in-law live in Belgrade,(and his family live in the area east of Bozeman). After 30+ years in the Denver area we can't stand the growth any longer. ( sorry-- I realize that we'll add to your growth, but we've always been good neighbors and respectful)

Anyone have any thoughts about the costs of buying a small lot & building a small home vs. buying in an established neighborhood. We live in an older area now that has big lots and trees.

Keep an eye on the classifieds in the Helena paper, that will give you an idea, also any MT real estate google will put you in touch with real estate in MT Good luck, my hubby and I are retired and we (I) would like to move over closer to the grand kids and my daughter. I have been looking for 2 years.
