Default Permanent Housing trade

Has anyone had experience with permanent housing trades? We have a huge hunting lodge in NW Montana that we would like to sell and someone suggested trading perhaps for multiple smaller properties etc. within the US or overseas.....any experiences out there? Our sale site is Moderator cut: move it to classified Montana Lodge for Sale

You might check with a MT accountant as they are pretty good at understanding the tax benefits to doing such a trade.

Curious if you care to respond to why you are leaving Montana, IMO the best last place on earth?

Montana is a beautiful place but the winters are brutal.

Pene, My husband and I traded houses with friends. Went smoothly. We both went to the title company and told them what we wanted to do. Traded straight across. Done deal. The hard part was switching houses. Our house was large and theirs was small and moving while we both were living in the houses made for some confusion. On the other hand we shared hauling things. We took a load up and unloaded and then picked up a load of theirs and took it back with us and they did the same. This way neither of us were wasting an empty trip. And in the end we were all still friends. The VERY BEST PART!!!

Chris

Any pics or a link? I know the mods requested that you post in the classifieds, but I never saw anything. Did I miss it?
