belgrade is a hole. we call it "smellgrade" around here. now with that said, it can be nice in some spots, but for the most part, it serves as a place to live for all the construction workers, day laborers, and meth heads in the gallatin valley. the houses that have been thrown up (pardon the pun) here in the past few years are a shame to the building industry. cheap, effecient, and cheap. did i say cheap? you are next to the airport, and the railroad tracks, not to mention the freeway. don't ever consider a sub-division call las campagnas. if you can deal with the railroad, airport, and freeway, your house will rot in a 5-10 years. i worked on those houses trust me. the view from belgrade, though is beautiful. live in gallatin gateway instead! mike.

i cannot believe what im seeing-there is a town in montana,us of a,called belgrade?????!!!!is that correct?!what is further strange is that i saw a movie just a bit ago and a fella was mentioning montana and some town that he comes from called great falls or summin similar(his comment was that the place is a real ****-hole,one of the windiest places on earth and also its gotta something 2 do with electricity and therefore its also called electricity town-ive gathered its something to do with all that wind and windmills producing electricity or something to that effect).u c,i am from serbia and next big town to mine is belgrade, but that is the belgrade, capital of serbia.why would some place in montana be called belgrade,i mean, don't get me wrong, that's kinda nice, flattering, but how the hell had somebody come up with a name like that for an american town,a???man, rocky mountains, legendary place and there is a town called belgrade there, somewhere close to those 4 carved headz, wow,i feel now that montanians r related to me-if that is the case!

Actually, there is a Belgrade in several states. As to being close to the 4 carved heads, no. It's several hundred miles to Mount Rushmore. 520 miles to be more exact.

I live close to Belgrade, and yes it has it's nicknames. "Little Baghdad, Belghetto, etc.." michael11747 has a point. In less than 10 years all the new condo/modular/small house subdivisions will be ghettos if Montana keeps growing like it has been in the last 10 years or so.
The truth is, Belgrade and Three forks houses most of the working class people of Gallatin County. It's not as expensive as Big Sky and Bozeman so where do all the people that the Bozeman yuppies need to police their neighborhoods, fight in the middle east so they can still have fuel to drive their SUV's, rescue them when they call 911, fix the leaks in their overpriced and under built homes, trim their trees, cook at their restaurants, clean their homes and businesses and take out their garbage for them go if they can't afford to live in the same town?
I know the above sounds bad, but the truth is, where do you go when you don't want to be judged on your clothes, the car you drive, the shoes you wear, etc... Belgrade people are more personable in my opinion than the elitists that have infiltrated Gallatin County.
Are there drugs in Belgrade? Is there crime? Sure, but there is in Bozeman also, and from my experience if your car were to break down I'd put money on a helping hand to be more likely in Belgrade than in Bozeman anymore. I stay out of any town as much as possible, (just ask my wife) but Belgrade is more a community than Bozeman, and I'll spend my hard earned money in a Belgrade store before I'll drive to Bozeman anytime.
