we are planning a 2 day stay between Red Lodge and Cooke City this summer. I have lodging all set for Red Lodge. I am looking for recommendations for Cooke City. I don't expect anything fancy, just clean and friendly accomodations.

I know that Elkhorn Lodge is for sale.

Thanks!

You might find this link to Cooke City's Chamber of Commerce helpful.

Cooke City, Silver Gate, Colter Pass Chamber of Commerce (http://www.cookecitychamber.org/cooke_city_montana_businesses.php?business=lodging ,_cabins_and_motels - broken link)

I do know that the Soda Butte Lodge is a very nice place to stay and the people who own it are fantastic.

I stayed at the Hoosier several summers ago. The rooms were adequate (nothing to get excited about) but clean and suitable. However, the walls were incredibly thin.

I'm just curious as to why you would avoid the Soda Butte Lodge. Is there a particular reason? I found nothing wrong with it and neither did my Brother or his wife.
