I know a small time developer who used some cheapo panels in a few homes and they warped and caused some problems.

Do you happen to know what manufacturer the panels came from ?

No I don't but they came in several thicknesses and had OSB on both sides of the styrofoam core. I think he exacerbated the problems by letting them sit out in the weather for a week or two before using them and once they were up he didn't put the siding on in a timely manor and that could have made the warping worse. I do remember him talking about the great deal he got on them. His houses are really lousy and falling apart !

That makes a bit of sense. I'd put my money on the dudes workmanship and manner of handling the project before I would bad panel mfg'ing. And since you mention his houses are lousy says a lot. I can understand getting some bad material every once in a great while causing issues... but to say it's bad material all of the time...
