I was wondering if anyone can tell me what a second floor apartment in downtown Conrad might rent for ? A two bedroom older place with heat and water included in the rent. I just need a general idea as we may be having one that we will really needing to get rented out. Any guesses from anyone ? I saw on the Conrad city site that they need Doctors, Nurses and Aids etc. there but I guess those are needed everywhere. The pay is probably low I would guess. Conrad seems to be the kind of town half the folks on these boards are looking for, real Mayberry like, but without much work. Yummy burgers at the Keg though, heck I could live on those dads ! I was shocked when I found out that the cost of a business licence there is only $20. per year, and garbage pick up is only $15. per month ! |

Hi Rickers-Is that for Rick or soemthing else?
As you know I have been researching Conrad and it is very difficult to find any information on housing- rental or buying. My MIL who is from the area said we might want to try to get in touch with a guy by the name of Jerry Slezak?? Not sure how you spell it. I guess he is a local real estate guy that she has dealt with before. My husband plans to call him after he visits next week to meet with his Dad about the business and line out all the particulars. Are you and your wife in the medical field? I am actually thinking of going to school to get my RN at some point. I'd love to get a job at Pondera Medical there in Conrad. I was thinking of starting with my CNA and then move up. But it means lots of comuting for nursing school in Great Falls. Good luck finding some info. If you find out if they have high speed internet available let me know. Currently I am in computers and will be telecommuting from Montana to my job here in Texas which will require that I have something faster than dialup! |

Hi Melinda ! My wife and I are semi retired blue collar peons, although my parents were medical professionals. I am pretty sure there is some form of high speed internet there.
Here in Hot Springs when we got high speed internet we paid for it for a while but it was a joke. We went back to phone line dial up as the new high speed service still used the phone line and really wasn't much faster than the old dial up ! Conrad does seem to exist in kind of a bubble of sorts. No, a time warp is more like it. Did I mention "Mayberry" ? Hopefully our deal will go through and we hope to be there by Whoop Up Trail Days this summer. |
