Bozeman to Helena
Does anyone live in Bozeman area and work in Helena? I live in Three Forks and I am thinking about taking a job in Helena. Just wondering how the drive is and if anyone out there does this everyday.
Thanks

If you take the job are you planning on moving to Bozeman?
Three Forks to Helena is 206 miles.
Bozeman to Helena is 99 miles.
Could be a tough drive in the winter time.

When I lived in MT (thru 1984) I did that trip regularly, tho not daily... Helena to Toston or so was always open and I never saw the road get too bad, not even during a blizzard (always seemed to blow clear). However near Townsend there is often dense fog at night, at any time of year, and that area can be real blind when it's snowing hard. From Toston to Three Forks was icy in winter more often than not, and usually not sanded, but visiblity is better. If you're skilled at driving on ice, no big deal, tho it'll make for a long, long commute. It's slightly over an hour in summer conditions.
Also, consider the bite the price of gas will take out of your paycheck. My neighbour drives about 60 miles each way and at the peak price for gas, it was costing her over $300/month just for the daily commute.

Ummm.. I think you might want to recalculate your distances... Three Forks is closer to Helena than Bozeman.
If you are looking to work in Helena I'd check out Townsend for a home before Bozeman..

Thank you for pointing that out. There are two towns named "Three Forks" in montana. One is up North by Browing (that's the one my map program kept picking up on) and of course the other one is South going towards Bozeman. I'll have to tweak that. haha
