Good advice, thanks! We will definitely have to do that. I must say, even the thought of being caught in a snowdrift is intimidating...

I second the other post -- come in the dead of winter and learn firsthand whether you can adapt. An average January day in Montana can be up to ONE HUNDRED DEGREES COLDER than winter in Georgia. Does that put it into perspective?
OTOH, Montana humidity is a lot lower even at its worst, so if you suffer during the summer, it may be worth the tradeoff.

Think of snow as good ol' southern red gumbo. If you wouldn't drive through it if it was a puddle with gumbo under it, don't drive through it if it's got a pile of snow over it either.

Kind of like eastern Montana gumbo! I'd pick snowy roads over that stuff.
