Camping trip in MT
Me and my brother want to go on a camping trip in Montana. Id like to go some where really cool and scenic and that is fairly remote. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks.

Yes, glacier fits the scenic part, but the place has too many people for my taste. There are some very remote areas of glacier that you should look into, probably in the northwest area of the park.
Are you looking for a backpacking trip, or a car camping trip? Backpacking: Sawtooth lake in southwest Montana, Boulder lake in the Rattlesnake Wilderness. Heart lake, Bonanza lakes. Car camping: The Swan valley has an array of camping areas, good fishing, and scenic mountains. I found a lake there called Van Lake, that you can drive to, but its 4x4 only....no campers there. And I had the whole place to myself. Both Glacier and the Swan valley is Griz country, so camp accordingly.

I'd say just go exploring.
I won't tell of any of my favorite fishing, camping, or hunting spots on here. The reason is that I took an acquaintance Elk hunting about 10 years ago and then the jerk did a write up in a magazine on the trip. Now if you go to this spot during Elk season there are more hunters than Elk and it aggravates me to the point of raising my blood pressure.

Also explore the forest service websites they have lookout towers cabin rentals in the remote sections.
There are areas that are close to the Continetal divide trail also so check there website out as well. Just so many areas so many lakes the choices are almost endless.

Im definately interested in GNP. What is the coolest area of this park and must see spots. Are there much bears, cats, ect. that I'd have to look out for if we were camping.

Going to the sun road is one, hiking up on the glaciers is another. Look up info on GNP for much more. The bears are just starting to wake up and yes, there are cats as well.

How about mosquitoes, are they much of a nuisance during the summer.

Alot depends on how wet the winter/spring is. They can be annoying but nothing a little deet can't take care of. Just keep your tent netting closed as much as possible and shoot a little "off" or something like that and you should be fine. You really should be using some kind of repellant anyway and keep your pants tucked into your socks to keep ticks off of you. I'd be more concerned with the ticks than mosquitoes...

What time of year are you going? Ticks won't be a problem mid to late summer.
