Hello! Can anyone tell me about Kalispell Regional Medical Center? What is the reputation with employees and patients. Is it a good place to work? Is it a good place to be a patient? Honesty appreciated. Thanks!

Having been there as a patient a few times for multiple days and going back soon for a few more days I would say that it's a fine hospital. I had work done in SF, at what was purportedly one of the finest hospitals in the nation and I wish I would've stayed at KRMC. As for working there, we've know some people who work there and while there has been some transitions as of late I've not heard anything that would stop me from working there if that's the job I was looking for.
Also I'd have to base my opinion on how well the nurses have always treated me which is nothing short of great! Very caring and supportive. If the staff isn't happy it will definately show in how they work so there's one indicator for you.

C'mon people. Only one reply? Is it that bad of a place? Are people afraid to speak out or are they just not interested in this thread?

Give it a couple of days. You act as if everybody on the system is from that area and is very familiar with the medical center.

The service at KRMC is pretty good. I've had family members who had major surgeries there and the service was average.

KRMC is one of the largest employers in the area. My opinion is that they are a terrible employer. They don't really care about the needs of their employees and the pay is not up to par with the industry. My wife worked there for two years and quit because of dishonest management and being treated poorly. Their excuse for the poor pay, which you'll hear from most employers in the area, "that's the price you pay to live here", as if the views around the area can make up for poor pay.

My wife has worked in health care management for 10 years, and KRMC is the worst place she worked. One of my co-worker's wife also worked there, and quit for the same reasons.

Unfortunately that seems to be the theme for most employers here in the flathead. They know that people here live paycheck to paycheck and take advantage of that to the fullest extent, then complain that they can't keep people or that people change jobs too much here.
