My wife and I are headed to Flathead Lake this week and we're looking for recommendations of places to stay right on the lake. So far I have found the Kwataqnuk Resort Casino, but we're pretty lukewarm about the casino part. Can anyone recommend lakefront lodging for us? Thank you.

If you can get a reservation there, you should take it. Typically summer is booked up several months in advance.

That resort at Polson is a better choice than Red Lion in Kalispell

I don't have a specific recommendation but if you want dining, shopping, activities beyond the lake, I 'd think being in or near Bigfork would appeal. If you just want the lake and quiet, other places may have the edge.

Yes, definitely Big Fork is way more appealing if spending time in a town on the lake.

When we go to Glacier, we always stay at Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell.

Fine, if you like overpriced condos.

Yeah that can be an issue. Just outside town would be my preference.

I'd look at VRBO or AirBnB. Lots of amazing places are available on every side of the lake.
