Talking Is There A Market For Nails Salons???

I was interested in opening a full service nail salon and would like to know what areas are good for this type of business. I was looking at Missoula or Helena and possibly Billings... If anyone has any clue, or know where else is good, let me know!!! Thanks a bunch!

My guess is the people reading this board are probably not going to be a population likely to go to nail salons. They have nail salons in many parts of Montana though I think they mostly do nails as part of a larger package of services. I'm a guy so I really don't know that much about nails - but they do have salons and places to get nails done there.

But I will tell you this: It's far harder doing business in many parts of Montana than many other parts of the country. I'm from Montana and currently live in a city. It's just amazing to me because at a store here in Seattle there is a nonstop stream of customers in and out of the store (gas stations are a good example) but you go to a small town in Montana and the stream of customers is far smaller. I have a hard time seeing how the gas stations in the smaller towns stay in business. Missoula and Billings would be the best cities for a nail salon because they're the largest and more money is made there but I don't know what the competition is like.

Perhaps a stereotype, but nail salons have long been associated with drug money laundering.

Sorry.

I don't know about trimming nails and stuff but we do have a need for folks who can trim our horses feet. Would you be interested in this type of work?

Stick to larger towns - Missoula or Helena --- more women, more money, more working women in professions. In smaller towns - there maybe one nail tech in a salon of 4-5 beauticians.
