Missoula, anyone?
I think Montana is beautiful, but you guys always seem to get the bad rap. Why do you think that happens so much? Missoula seems like such a nice city; does anyone in this forum live there? How do you like it?

I used to live there and loved it. The predominate reason Missoula gets a bad rap is because it's a liberal community filled with transplants...two things many Montanans don't like.

I live in Missoula; went to college here 150 years ago; came back 14 years ago. I am a died-in-the-wool right-wing, conservative Republican. In Missoula I might as well be a leper!!
But the town has its nice parts for sure. Scenery, closeness to scenic attractions and outdoor sports. One heck of football program at the University is about all that keeps me here.
If you are a dope-smoking commie-pinko-left-wing-swine-liberal, who doesn't bathe, keeps your hair in dredlocks and rides a bike, finds being a barista a professional career choice, you'll fit right in!!

Its not quite that bad It has Reserve Street --- all the big bad box stores on one little street with 6 lanes of traffic for all the out of towners to come spend their $$ (grocery, clothing, furniture) once a month (nearest shoe store for me is 50 miles away in Missoula).

I posted under MarieLynn's thread, writer seeking info on Bigfork. That info is about an experience I had there many years ago while I was passing thru Big Sky Country.
Personally, I feel Missoula is a very nice, clean place to live, with very wonderful people.
I've been thru there twice. Another time I went north of Missoula thru Glacier National Park on a train.
A nice little city I really like is Glendive! I've been there a time or two.
Maybe I'm biased because I also had a very close friend whose home town was Glendive.
