All three are wonderful.
But I think I'd give the nod to Whitefish, if the cost of living is not an issue for you.

I'm a Whitefish High School graduate. I'll let you guess if I favor the Whitefish Bulldogs over the Columbia Falls Wildcats......

A lot depends on what you want to spend and if you want to live in a resort town or out a ways. Aspenfish is nice but a tad expensive and pretentious, Kalispell is a soon to be Missoula with hwy 93 becoming just like Reserve st, and C-Falls is the bedroom community to both that has yet to find an identity other than it exists and is close to the park.
Personally I prefer living out in the county and since I'm guessing you don't have kids schools don't matter. Taxes are cheaper in the county if you plan to own and there's less regulation as well.
All 3 are decent places, good luck to you which ever you choose...

One interesting thing about Columbia Falls is the name. The Flathead River runs right by and don't even try to find a waterfall, never was one and there never will be. The origin of the towns name has long been a point of argument ! Whitefish has become very expensive as it is a resort town. The general cost of living and the property taxes aren't the issue it's the property values that are insane. Also even though there is no state sales tax in Montana, the resort towns are allowed to levy a local resort sales tax.

Actually there is a falls, it's behind Glacier Bank, although it's made out of rock and concrete... The name as far as I've been told came from wayyyy back. They wanted to name it "Columbia" but since that name was used they added "Falls" to it. I guess they could've named in North Fork or something like that...
