Default average weather?

I've been tracking the weather in Montana for about 8 months now.
From my observation, the state seems to be warmer by atleast 10-25 degrees than Minnesota; with an exception of this past week where we were about even.

Do you believe the weather you have experienced this year is typical, strange, or what?

Do you feel you received more snow than usual or less?

More days below zero than you remember enduring in the past?

I'll comment on Bozeman, MT.

We got our first snowfall in September, and our latest snowfall was April 24th.

The coldest day I remember was -22ish (Mid January sometime).

I'm not a local here, but I've heard that this winter was a bit harsher than others; however, I've also heard that past winters have been a bit more mild.

I live in Helena, MT. Overall, we averaged a couple of degrees colder than normal this winter, but missed having any of the usual extreme cold snaps. Here are the normal average highs and lows for Helena:

Dec 34 15
Jan 33 14
Feb 39 18
Mar 46 24

We are 5 degrees below normal for the month of April. Some locations in Montana had great snowfall this year. I had the snowblower out every week this winter at our cabin at Seeley Lake, and there is still quite a bit of snow on the ground now!

I've heard Montana is warmer than Minnesota, but never lived there to say for sure.

What I can say in the coldest Montana days (in my opinon) are when the temperature is about 30 - 35 degrees. The humidity climbs and it is a cold muggy temperature and that chills me to the bone. I find Bozeman to be more comfortable winters than Kalispell even though it's colder because the humidity is lower and the temperature stays below freezing much more consistently.
