I would suggest that maybe people who think the stories of Browning are overblown or "redneck racisim" should actually go see for themselves and THEN suggest ideas to "help". It's real easy to comment when living in another state which is something I try to avoid since how could I know if I don't live there.
I'm willing to bet y'all will be as surprised at the negative attitudes as those of us who live close to there and aren't Indian.

Browning is a dump. Sorry if that is not PC enough for you, but it's the truth. My ignorance, as you say, did not create the poverty, crime, and economic depression in Browning.

Before you resort to more name calling, will you please answer the following questions: Have you ever been to Browing? Would you have made the same post if we were talking about what a dump Butte or some other non-native town was?

A lot of BS and nonsense is taught in schools. The Blackfeet have always fought with neighboring peoples. If one studies the history of every native American peoples, it becomes evident that almost every separate nation, tribe or group has had a period in their past when they were involved in disputes with neighboring groups or tribes over resources. It was the total domination of these peoples by the whites that has finally put an end to to the inter-tribal warfare. Also the notion that any American Indian tribes are soveriegn nations is also nonsense. Even Indians living on a reservation have to pay income tax to Uncle Sam. If the Draft was reinstated does anyone think that reservation indians would be exempt ! I don't think so.
When I say Browning is a dump I am not trying to put down any tribe or people at all. Polson Montana is a tidy friendly peacefull town for the most part and it is on an Indian Reservation, All anyone has to do is go spend a little time in Browning and they will agree that Browning is a dump. The town I live in is a dump also in many ways !

The climate is very cold and windy in the winter. The economy hardly exists. Most of the streets aren't even paved. There's even a sign going into one of the neighborhoods that is a warning to anyone not familiar with the town...it's dangerous, especially if your aren't a native american. There are actually roving packs of wild dogs in the town. Basically, it is the bottom barrel indian reservation town that you can't believe exists unless you go see for yourself. It feels like your driving through a small third world country. For the rest of any cultural aspect...there is none. I highly doubt there is any movie house, or restraunt that is above those of truck stops.

yeah have fun with Browning, only Heart Butte and Poplar are worse.

An evening of listening to the poplar 911 dispatch is a pretty eye opening event.
