Well, it's not PC to say, but here's another Montanan who thinks Browning is a dump. You couldn't pay me to live there, although I dearly love Montana.

I was harassed and picked on by a guy just while driving through Browning once.
Just in Yakima, Washington.

Default Dateline NBC

Did anyone see Dateline NBC the other night? It was about a girl's murder in Poplar, Montana. Please see my post under the "What's Poplar, Montana like?" thread and let me know what you think, if you saw the show. If you didn't, you can probably catch it online.

Default It'a a sad fact.

Drive thru the "projects" in Browning and any person would be sad. While there in 1996 the potholes were so bad they used refrigerator doors for fill. Many houses would be condemned if it were any other place. The white man definitely "screwed" the Natives.

I think that we all live life the way we have to, and why people judge is because they have a battle going on with themselves and the only way they know how to cope is to put people, peoples way of living down. I lived in wapato, washington. I've lived in whiteswan. So what? That guy who wrote that stuff about browning was probably a biggot. I've been to browning for a pow-wow. I just love seeing natives from all over the place. They sell drugs in every city. Get real. These people trying to put one town down is stupid. Where have these people been? Under a rock. Life in every town could be bad. It just depends on how you choose to live it.

My first time through Browning I was on HWY 2 and just like every tourist I was thinking it was quaint. Having been through a number of times now I have a stronger, more personal feeling for the Reservation. We all react differently whether it be pictures or movies or real-life.
