Default thinking of moving to montana

shorty story is that me and my wife are thinking about moving to montana. originally i am from texas (please dont be stereotypical :P). however i havent lived there for the last 5 years. lived a bit in florida then was stationed in germany for 4 years and now me and the wife have been living in California for 2 years.

so reason for wanting to move to montana. well first off one of my buddies (more of a brother) lives there so that is reason enough . but also we cant stand california and califronians :P this fast pace stuck up attitude for life here just isnt for us. we would like to go some where such as montana, for those of you living there i am sure you know what i am looking for

so this is my question or questions. just how is it in montana i would like to hear some of the ups and the downs. as far as where we are moving that is undecided as of yet. my plan would be to hopefully get a job with TSA until settled and what not until i can get a job as a police officer. right now TSA is only hiring in Belgrade. how is it in belgrade? every detail is nice good and bad. Great Falls is another location we have thought of as well. any advice for there?

this is long enough. hop i have been clear on what i looking for i am sure after some responses the better half might have some questiongs .

in advanced thanks

First off I've lived in Montana as well as 9 other states including California ( My birth state) . I've been in Mt. for over ten years . Your post asks us to not be stereotypical but you already can"t stand me ! (Your words, and I am a Californian after all). I think you need to:
#1 - visit first in both seasons ! Yea we have a spring and a fall but winter is long and summer is short. The equinox seasons can go by in a flash.
#2 - Either learn to spell or be sober when you go to fill out the application.
#3 - Consider going home to Texas.

Also thank you for serving our great country.
You could also consider working as a correctional officer or Border patrol.
Please visit in winter especially, before dragging your family to a place you may end up hating. Another thing is if you really can't stand California then you surely haven't been to any place in California except the big cities.

I want you to move back to Texas so I can visit you in the winter and you can visit here when the summer gets hot there. Just joking but really going back home is always a back up plan. You may really like it here and the hot azz summers here probably wont bother you much after Texas and Iraq. It's the long cold winters that might bug you.
One thing you may really like about Montana is in the ten years I've lived here I've never seen a flea or a cockroach. And the crawdads can get huge here.
Sorry my post sounded snarky, I just spent the day picking up a washer in Sweetgrass, in a house that was so dirty that I lost my lunch from the stink that the deadbeat tenants left in the house. Not a pleasant day for ol rickers !

CBP is hiring all along the border in Montana. They keep opening up job announcements because they can't get enough applicants to fill the job openings... Although the Hiline would be much different than living in Belgrade or Great Falls...

I am in ne montana on the hi-line, many BG families in the area, they tell me you do have to do your tour on the southern border then you can put in for your wish station. Looks like good pay, and you will be helping your country once again. i would do it but i am too old! good luck!
