Default Lolo, MT?

Looking for opinions about this town good or bad. Looking to possibly relocate there. I already live in a small mountain town in Colorado that gets snow, so I know what the weather may be like. Retired, so don't need to make a living, but don't want isolation. Seem slike with Missoula close by, there would be diversity.

There is not much in Lolo. A couple of gas stations and a small strip mall. A cafe or two. Some decent housing going in. Basically Lolo is a bedroom community for people who want to escape higher tax rates in Missoula.

Thanks. Worth living there vs. Missoula?

It seems like people in Lolo are just Missoula outliers. You will be constantly driving up to Missoula.

I can think of better small towns in Montana.

Lolo's claim to fame is that it is only one of two places where physical evidence of the Lewis and Clark Expedition has been found, their toilet at Travelers Rest. The other being Wm Clark's signature on Pompey's Pillar near Billings.

They found the toilet because of the medicine that was given to the members. Rush's Thunder Clappers was full of Mercury and 200 years later is was still detectable in the soil.

There is a nice housing development in the north hills at the edge of town and another one west on Hwy 12.

You'll be driving the 10 miles to Missoula every day as there just isn't much there! Gasoline is consistently 1 penny cheaper in Lolo however!!!
