Folks can **** and moan, or they can deal with the new folks and try to be positive about it.
I too would like everything to stay the same. I like things the way they are (were), but I'm not going to let the changes get me down.
I'm going to try and embrace it and never be disrespectful to the new folks.

I love the keyboard warriors who have all the answers, but don't have the balls to do anything about it! If and a big IF you run and show common sense ideas and show you can't be bought off then yes I'd consider voting your way.

Wow - By the way- I am a product of the Montana Educational System, a graduate of the U of Montana, and I live and work in the Flathead. If you've never been outside of Calispell, than thats your own fault for being ignorant. Montana has some of the best teachers in the nation- you must have skipped class to many times...rolleyes :@

Sorry but I get a bit testy when patronized. Of course I (and I'm sure others here) know who you were talking about as well as the contents of McCain's bill.

to AQHA. When you can no longer buy your steaks to barbeque then you will start*****ing about the outsiders that moved in and took away the right to run cows. the areas are getting smaller and the ranchers are losing more and more of the ground that they pay to run their cows on. Evidently you are not a rancheer or a hunter or an outdoorsman that truly enjoys the "last best place" as it was meant to be enjoyed

I am a rancher, outdoorsman and a hunter. Did I miss something? Do the folks moving to Montana want to outlaw beef? Do they want to take our cows?
"last best place" as it was meant to be enjoyed? What does that mean? Last best place for who? Do we have any more right to this place than anyone else? Trying to stop the people from coming here is like trying to stop the wind, dont fight it just except that nothing stays the same, everything changes.

So there is a lot of German, Dutch and Dane hamlets in a lot of eastern states, that don't speak a lot of American English either. and they have been here for over a hundred years! So what is your Point?
WE even have these hamlets in Montana! Big deal! Get over it! Every state has diversity! I kinda like that here as well!!!! The only difference here in Montana is people here have to follow the law! And people don't get coddled by our justice system! Rich people, get caught doing something wrong here, they can't buy their way out of a jail cell!!! That sir is called real western justice!!!!!!!

AQHA where have you been? the environmentalists have been making it very hard on ranchers who run their cows on forest and blm lands. People that have moved in have , yes ,threatened us if the cows go thru their property on their way to the high country. They will shoot them, and have. The room is getting smaller and smaller. again, where in the world have you been that you are so ignorant of whats happening? How high was your hay this past year? Hay grounds are getting less and less also. Take off your rose colored glasses

My operation is pretty small, mostly summer steers. I was not aware of this.

The room is not getting any smaller, there's just more people in the room. Do you have, or plan to have, kids? If so, you are part of the problem. Population control-- we need to consider it. Look around at all the people in the room, in 30 to 40 years there will be twice as many. Where will these people live?

Is there a reason you are being rude? I know I'm normally a fountain of knowledge, but occasionally I don't know everything... Attacks are not needed, save them for the people who are new to the forum. ps. are you new here?

I'm normally a staunch defender of new folks who move here but this is certainly a down side. The high price of hay is directly related to all the subdivisions and other development going on in the state. I don't like it but there's nothing I can do about it but *****, so I pay the extra money for hay and move on. If I thought bitching would make my hay cheaper I would do it, I just don't think it will.

Ouch.
In this case I will leave them on. The people moving here don't deserve to be treated poorly by the locals. I can't control how you or others treat these folks but I can decide how I treat them and I'm going to be neighborly.
You are new to this forum, I'll be kind to you too, until you give me a reason not to.
