I would bet that the above poster either lives in Browning (defensive) or has never been there, (ignorant). I have a couple of friends there and they hate the place too.
The poster above has a good point about driving other roads to bypass Browning but if you are on a schedule and not just sightseeing or vacationing it is more practical to just stay on 2 and go through Browning. There is some very nice country to go through by taking Joe show roads or Blackfoot cutoff road. No one is expecting Browning to be like some so called Shangri La but it shouldn't be too much to ask for the tribal authorities to at least try to do something about all the loose dog packs and the drunken bums bothering people who want to shop there. Browning is a cesspool of alcoholism, drug use, poverty, and crime. If the folks there want to be prosperous they are doing a fine job of keeping prosperity out and hopelessness and desperation in. Browning earned its horrible reputation for a reason.

Yes, I maybe offensive and ignornant....but I ain't a hypocrit. By saying where I'm from doesn't have those problems or a bad reputation of some sort to someone - who has seen or heard or had something done wrong to 'em. And yes, people do sh1tty things that make themselves and their environment look 'bad'...giving and deserving a bad reputation. Y'all seem like urban experts; on development, law & order, public safety, economics, etc, etc .... why don't you go there and 'fix it'! ROFL

It is not my job or duty to go fix any messed up poorly run town. The problem with Browning is their own to fix or to live with. But however If I notice something seriously bad about a town I certainly have the right to speak my mind about it. I'm just glad I didn't buy any property there. I don't claim to have visited every reservation in the west but I've spent a lot of time on many reservations and even own some property on the C.S.K.T. reservation and Browning is by far the worst reservation town I've ever seen. Go visit Pablo, Ronan, or Polson, no blatant debauchery on the streets no multiple dog packs running amok, then take a visit to good old Browning and compare. If the tribal leadership of the Blackfeet Reservation want tourists to feel comfortable stopping and shopping in Browning, it is up to them to fix their towns serious problems.

I have been to many reservation towns and yes, I have been to Polson, Ronan and Pablo, and I've seen bad things there and people acting inappropriate (both Native and White). Just as I've seen in many towns/cities that I've been to and you're right, they live there and it's their problem. But if it bothered me SO much and I had to bad mouth it to everyone, except those who SHOULD read/hear my concerns/opinions; I'd write an editorial in their local paper.
Say I'm "ignornant"??? LMFAO
I'm not the one hiding behind a computer screen, pissing and moaning.
Write an editorial to the Sukapi Times.

I don't hide behind a computer screen ! Anyone reading some of my past posts can see that I live in Conrad directly next door to the Conrad police department in the alley between the apartment building stairs and the cop shop. I also wouldn't refer to my post as "pissing and moaning", I'm just expressing my opinion of Browning as a town. I've some good friends there. Here are a couple of pics and a couple of links to some stats from City-Data's pages on Browning, (In my opinion, the toilet of Montana) and Conrad, (In my opinion the Mayberry of Montana). Oh by the way I never called you "offensive" I called you "defensive" I don't really mean to sound like an assjerk, I was not born an assjerk but I've been practicing to be one for most of my life.
These pencils were regarded by many artists all over the world as the best pencils ever made for artwork. What happened to the factory ?
These sculptures guard the Blackfeet Reservation along highway 2, They are interesting but kind of spooky at the same time.
Here are the stats for the sex offender pages of the two above mentioned towns. City-Data stats for just the sex offender ratios show Browning as having a ratio of 76 to 1 and Conrad is shown to have a ratio of 625 to 1. These stats are a couple of years old but you get the picture.

As I mentioned before....write an editorial to the Sukapi Times....I'm sure everyone in Browning would love to know that they are living in a "toilet". 'Cause many do have jobs....and lives....and don't spend humongous time on the internet, stumbling across sites like this -- to voice their opinion(s).
"Mayberry" ROFLMFAO .... Don't make me LAUGH!!! I've been to Conrad and what I have witnessed how some people acted toward visitors (negative/outsider treatment-not a bit friendly at all)......LOL 'mayberry' LOL......Uhhmm.

I have no interest in writing an editorial to The Sukapi times. I voice my opinions here. Can you explain why Browning is so full of perverts and thugs ? Look at the stats.
People badmouth my home town all the time and I don't get my panties all up in a twist about it.

Why don't you answer my question ? That paper wont print what I have to say about Browning and you know it, another reason is that I don't give a flying rats patootie about Browning and I wont stop or shop there either. I pass through and obey the laws. I certainly won't pay the outrageous price the Blackfeet want for a fishing licence either. If you want to say I hide behind a computer screen so be it, I really don't care about the town or what you say or think.
Browning is still a $hitwhole, the worst reservation town I've seen yet.
