Default 30s SWF - is Missoula for me?

Yes, it's another Missoula question. I did a search and I couldn't find the specifics I wanted.

I moved to Dodge City, KS over five years ago for a job opportunity, and I've had enough. I'm tired of the stink, wind, and clique-ish people. There is now an opening in my agency for Missoula, and I'm debating whether to apply or not.

I've been through Missoula, as I have family in Coeur d'Alene, but I've never spent any significant time there. I know it's a college town, so I'm assuming the single scene is great for the twentysomethings, but how is it for those who are a bit older (I'm 33)? Dating is great, but friends are better.

Now, I'm not into clubbing or anything (more of a pub type of gal). I'm also very into biking, which is a plus from what I've read. I'm not crazy about cold, but if I can have a social life I'll put up with it.

So, think I could fit in here?

Thanks!

If you're not all that fond of cold weather then you may want to visit in the winter first.

Thanks rickers. Unfortunately, the job opening closes this Friday, so a visit in winter is out of the question. I have been up to northern Idaho in January/February. Comparing the last couple of years of temps in Spokane to Missoula, it seems the coldest days Missoula is about 10 degrees colder, and seems to drop below zero more often. It seems to be better than Great Falls though. Winter isn't my favorite season, but maybe I could take up skiing and deal with it.

Thanks again.

Skiing is a blast, unfortunately for me those days are over. I like the squeak that fresh dry snow makes under your boots. Go for the job is what I say ! If you don't like it, you can always keep searching. It's a heck of lot easier to move when you're young than when you get all old and tired with a house full of junk !

The only thing with Missoula in the winter is that it can be kind of gray and slightly smoggy. They tend to get a few air inversions. However, the weather is usually a little warmer than most of the rest of the state.
