Default Boat licensing

How do you get a permits and licenses for motorized boats in MT?

Don't laugh, but do you have to get any permits for non-motorized boats? I don't think so, but I just want to make sure. Kayaks, etc.

Also, what's the last practical day you can go water skiing without a wetsuit?

My boat license cost me $200 2 years ago, and it's a permanent registration. I don't remember what I paid for my harley, but it's a perm sticker also. (same general range, but I think it was actually a bit less.. that was 4 or 5 years ago.)

By going to the same place as you would for a car registration.

No, if no motor no license.

I guess that'd depend on what kind of antifreeze is in your veins and if you think breaking ice requires a wetsuit...
Seriously though, it really depends on when fall/winter starts and that's always up in the air...
