I liked Colorado Springs. I did some service work around the area, and there were a lot of interesting people that did a lot of interesting things for work and fun. Lots of RC flyers, pilots, ham radio operators, ex-military, scientists and the like from what I can remember.

My husband was in Missoula on and off for a couple years - a couple years ago - and he said it was very much the not showering thing, and hippies and such that he saw too much of. Whitefish, Montana of the Flathead Valley beside The Big Mountain ski area I believe would be more resort-y and suburbanite and yuppie in a nice way yet still rather small and sometimes rustic around the edges. (Not nearby Kalispell, though. There is very much a seamy side there and a volatile mix just under the surface.)
