When planning a trip to Hamilton be sure to time the trip for Macintosh days, an apple harvest festival with lots of good craft booths, a huge Rube Goldberg looking apple juicing machine that looks like a Ferris wheel and the most Gawdawful gooey tamales I've ever tasted ! The view of the Bitterroot Mountains is stunning from the central areas of the Bitterroot Valley, you better bring your camera or you'll regret it !

I'd never heard of the Macintosh Apple Days (and I grew up there)...so I went looking and found the list of upcoming events in Hamilton.

Every once in a while I like to see what the weathers like back home in Hamilton. So I take a look at this webcam Montana's News Station - Fair. Accurate. To the Point. -Hamilton Eyecam

This camera is looking SW toward Roaring Lion and Sawtooth canyons

..........This year MacIntosh Apple Day (tomorrow) will really separate the "wheat from the chaff". Mother nature is "throwin' a low blow".

Temp tonight is forecast to be about 4F above in Hamilton-- high tomorrow maybe up to about 25, with a wind chill of around 5 above. (maybe colder in some areas); there is approx 3 to 4 " of snow on the ground now--maybe more to come tomorrow. Definitely a "bad scene for "Apple Day".

The radio this morning said they have 800 Mac apple pies baked and ready to sell; about 90+ booths (merchants) that sell everything from "all kinds of food to hand-crafted toilet seats (really nice looking, made out of hand carved oak).

All this takes place on about 3 streets that boarder the court house and the muesem.

Too bad the conditions won't be very acceptable this year.

......To rickers: yes, they still are using that weird lookin' apple cider makin' machine. All "man-power" and it sure does make some good cider.
