We wanna be Montana Groupies
Hi everyone! My family and I are looking to move to Montana. I see that some of the folks out there don't wanna share what God blessed them with. Wow, I suppose I can respect that..wanting to be selfish and keep that kinda rugged elegance all to yourself. I suppose I would to if I were a native Montanian (right...Lol)??? We are from Mississippi, the arm-pit of the United States. We ant to move to a place where people still care about each other, still have values, still are honest and plus it doesn't hurt that everything we have seen from there looks like a stinking FAIRY TALE!!!! Do I have an awkward southern accent that I am sure will annoy the crap outta people??? YEPPERS. Do I have a beautiful family that would be a contribution to ANY community, I SURE DO! I look forward to meeting y'all and pray to God that Montana is everything I have heard it is. I am sure that you folks aren't as negative and mean spirited as some of the people on here make you out to be. I can't Wait!!!!

You seem to have a positive attitude which helps a person fit in anywhere.
However, coming from Mississippi I caution you that a blizzard in mid-January will redefine your concept of "fairytale". Good luck!

Don't forget the blizzards in Feb, Mar and April as well... a good snow in April just when you think spring has sprung and you have had enough of winter all together will make you wish you were back in the land of cotton real quick ! Careful what you wish for...

What's so bad about using an outhouse? Just make sure the seat is carpeted, sure helps on those frosty January mornings
I lived in a trailer in MT, with no indoor plumbing, for many a year... Yep, we have running water... it runs by in the ditch, what more do you want?

Haha... I've lived in my old Jeep, tents, campers, trailers and the like up to the place I'm in now... (not bad for a dude with just a HS diploma, military experience, and a PHD from the school of hard knocks.) Some might call a guy like me an uneducated redneck, but again people like me and many others on this forum and all over the world have been known to be full of surprises..

Well, shucks.
My place is gone. Like snow before the summer sun.
I gave up trying to "save" it years ago. Like the Mighty Mississippi flooding through a hole dug by a varmint. All it takes is ONE, and then the flood. Don't wait to notice that things are changing in your town, county or state. Get more proactive get INVOLVED. Because if you don't the folks moving in from someplace else, those with lots of money and free time, they will DEFINITELY get involved in local county and state government and then that's it, they will run things the way THEY like.
Closing time Gentlemen, everyone get out.
