It's been awhile since I've seen much of a Montana real estate discussion around here. By the way, I really like City-Data's detailed real estate stats they've been posting.

Anyway, I thought you might be interested in a little documentary-style video I put together looking at the state of the Billings housing market. There are many markets nationwide having real trouble, but I wanted to look specifically at what's going on here. There are also brief segments on developments near Big Sky, Bozeman, and Red Lodge. Take a look and tell me what you think:

Default That's a nice area

Billings and areas near it look very nice and serene. In all honesty, falling home prices are not a bad thing. More and more people will be able to buy houses instead of overpriced condos. Haven't you noticed the people who defaulted on these loans were mostly from California? Is it just my imagination or do people from that state just leech of the American economy? When I see people come to Chicago from the west coast, they stand out like a sore thumb. They are just into status, appearance, and could care less about community. Bring on the bashing.

First, I've met more people on welfare in MT than I ever have in CA, and I LIVE in CA, that's the truth. I've met MT families where living off the gov't tit was generational. Second, these people you are referring to are most likely FROM LOS ANGELES. L.A. doesn't represent California. The people I've met from Chicago in CA? They're loud, like to talk over people, they don't listen, they just talk and talk. Oh, did I say Chicago? I meant people from Illinois!!

Hmmm., I know a lot of people who would disagree that there are more homeless in Montana than in San Francisco.

2217 homeless estimates for three years straight in Montana.
3000 to 5000 hard core homeless in San Fransisco.

I'd agree. I'm just speaking from my personal experience, and I told the truth. I live in a relativly small CA town, small like the MT town I frequently visit. I've met more on the dole in MT, than an entire lifetime in CA. I can't prove it, you'll just have to take my word. My main point anyway is about all Californians getting lumped together. I know, I live in CA, that assertion is bu!!$&!*!!!!!!

"You are an idiot if you think there are more leeches in Mt than Cal. proove it or shut that crap up" That's what some guy sent me today after reading my post. No kidding? there are more leeches, I'd agree, there are 40 MILLION MORE PEOPLE!!!!!!!All I said was my frame of reference, read the posts better, dude.
