JoeJoeMan will become famous soon enoughJoeJoeMan will become famous soon enough
maid.in.montana I Luuuuv You

Hi my name is JoeJoeMan, will you marry me.....no just kiddin' I couldn't agree MORE with EVERYTHING you say..................thank god you've come along, they beat up on me all the time for having that same exact view point as you....I wouldn't be surprise if some people actually think I'm you and using a second login name (illegal around here).
I've been saying the same stuff for months on here, they all know me and my points of view.

Wish I had more time to write, but I'm packing and will be back on monday, so please maid.in.montan stay around, we need people like you on here....

Anyway for a quick one, something I've been thinking about, a point I want to start on it's own thread, but for now......

So get this, if you say any of those bad words in today's society of political correctness....people will jump all over you, especially those lib-calif types, right ? right !....You know the words, I won't repeat them....and why can't you say them, well because they will 'offend' someone, and those lib-califs will be the first to stand up and scream at you for hurting some poor misfortunate one, you're offending them, and how dare you....
BUT now, if you come up here and throw the calif big bucks around at our, what use to be affordable housing market, and you drive the prices up to a point where we and our own children can't afford to live here......well that's perfectly alright, just upset us all you want, inconvience us all you like, drive up our cost of live, and place all that financial burden on us, not to mention what it does to our way of life and land, offend us all you watn.....BUT just don't, don't dare say any of those bad politically incorrect words that 'might' offend someone.....how hypocritical is that....
If you lib-calif (and all the others, not just califs) don't want to offend anyone, then PLEASE PLEASE don't offend us and upset our way of life anymore, you are placing real everyday hardship on us and our children........please find another last best place to live out your fantasy

And PS, inflation in housing prices is not happening everywhere, and certainly not to the disproportionate amount that it has happened here in the foo-foo parts of montana.....are local economy left to it's own devices could have never support the current realestate prices.....it is due in very large part to the influence of outside money...make no mistake about it....your dreams have placed very real hardships on alot of people here and we are literally paying everyday for it, in taxes, home ownership, rent and the like.

The whole problem stems from overpopulation. Everyone seems to be running from one state to another just to find that the crowds they're running from are following.

Rickers, you are SO right.

But I will be danged if I am going to stand back and see my way of life ruined because of it. I can fight for my lifestyle.

The house next door to me was for sale. HOO BOY, you shoulda seen how I sent my mean guard dog out there in the back yard every time some dang Californian came to look at it. How did I know they were Californians? By their license plates and Valley Girl accents. OOH, was I unhospitable? You bet I was!! VERY unhospitable.... no telling how many of 'em I ran off last summer.

Finally a sweet little retired lady from Michigan bought the place. Thank goodness. She is very low key... she is not on some divine mission to change the way we operate in this little town. She is very wary and is trying to lie low and not make anyone mad.

And she does not have kids!! Every one of those Californians who was looking at the place thought they were gonna move in there with their big family because this is a "nice town to raise kids in". Uhhh. No. Unfortunately, the local kids around here are terrible bullies to out-of-state kids. The transplanted kids get beaten up and teased unmercifully and most of those families end up leaving within a year. Fact of life in this neck of the woods. There are some people who will NEVER fit in here.

It sounds to me, then, as though the locals need to concentrate more seriously on raising their own children to be upstanding, good people, rather than telling other people's kids to stay out. The way you have stated the situation, the problem isn't people moving in, it's the behavior of ill-raised children. You don't solve the problem by telling people to stay out; you solve the problem by raising kids to be good and decent people.

Ahhh, and therein lies the problem. Are you willing to come out here and try to change things? The locals don't NEED to do ANYTHING, and they especially do not need YOU to TELL them what they need!! When you move into a Montana working-class town, you need to accept things for the way they are. Period. You do not show up trying to change things or you will be in for a very rude awakening.

You better not DARE tell us what we NEED to do. You don't move here and tell the locals what to do!!

I wouldn't go down to the Bible Belt and try to change things. Why should you want to come HERE and try it?

I do agree with you about the ill-raised children. I am raising mine to be tolerant.... but I am a Missoula refugee and I know better. HOWEVER... the scenario I have painted in my last two posts is very accurate.

This is a rough and tumble place.

Why do you THINK they call it the WILD WEST ??????!!!!!!!

I'm not sure why you assume that I'm going anywhere to try and change things. I'm terribly sorry that you have experienced such in your hometown. I can empathise as we've had people from the Northeast coming here for decades trying to change everything we do down here. (Heaven forbid kids say "ma'am" or "sir" or show other signs of politeness that we hold dear here. And oh, how we must not infringe upon kids "creativity" and expect them to behave themselves. )

In my saying that the onus of responsibility for ill-behaved children being on the ill-behaved children and their parents, I think that applies anywhere on the planet. If my child behaves like a hooligan, I can guaran-dang-tee you that not only will she be responsible, but so will I. (Fortunately, she's not a hooligan! )

I do think, however, we can agree that if parents raise their children to be considerate, responsible, law-abiding adults that this is the best of all possible things that could happen, no?

Just for the record, not everyone who considers moving there is going to build some 10,000 foot house (yikes, would I want to have to clean that and lord knows, I couldn't pay someone to do so) and wants to tell people how to run their towns. I like the towns out there the way they are. And for what it's worth (since this seems to be a huge problem for some folks out there), I have no interest in Missoula, Bozeman or any of the towns in that area. If for no other reason than the inversion which would be damaging to my child's lungs (respiratory issues she has), I do not wish to live there. If I wanted to live in a city-type atmosphere, I'd stay where I am.

Hey JoeJoeMan -- what "words" are you talking about? Don't beat around the bush. If I'm understanding you correctly, you're bothered that "liberals" take offense at overt racism and hatefulness. Am I right? I hope I'm wrong. But I can't think of what other "words" you might be talking about.
