Default "City Issues in Montana" or "Ya can't get away from it" !

I'm not one of those who actively discourage folks wanting to move here for a better life for themselves and their kids. There are things that one can't escape by moving here such as drunks and druggies. Meth problems have been discussed up the yin yang. I may be a bit self sheltered and maybe a little bit anti social (just a very close circle of friends) but I'm not easily shocked by being near "risky business" type of behavior. However I did get a little wake up call whilst perusing Craigslist Montana page. I have a store with upstairs apartment for sale on there and was checking my ad when I decided to explore the darker corner of Montana Craigslist page. Warning if you go there you may see some explicit material. For the curious ones go to the craigslist page for Montana and see all the hookers blatant ads with pics and the ads for actors wanted for porn productions ! Go to "Services" and click on erotic for the hooker ads and in the "Gigs" segment click on adult for the porn acting jobs in Missoula, Billings, Great Fall and Bozeman.
See, ya can't get away from it !

I've seen those hooker ads and have thought about filing a complaint with the local police department for prostitution. I really have better things to do with my time but it's upsetting.

Frankly, Craigslist is just asking to get shut down someday...there's so much stuff that people advertise there that is illegal it's really unfortunate. I love Craigslist but wish people would only do things on there that are legal.

Well overgrown towns that is ! I live in a very small town in western Mt. and I am staying in a little motel, a very seedy motel. There are folks coming and going every day buying heroin, cocaine, pot, you name it. Even our cop got caught doinking a bartender on the pool table a few years back (was seen when the recorded video needed to be reviewed later !) Law enforcement is almost non existent in many parts of the state. Cities or so called cities or small towns, like I said, "Ya can't get away from it"
Unless you go bald, grow a ZZ Top length beard, and go live under a rock on a mountain-top and live on marmot and foolhen it's really difficult to insulate yourself from these people who dwell in the world of depravity. The ways of the world are catching up to Montana and there doesn't seem to be anything we can do about it.

Sad but true. On a good note though, it's not as bad now as is will eventually get as the worlds population continues to grow ! If you call that a good note...

We are all from somewhere, and where we land and how we deal with it is a personal choice. Sorry rickers you are having a bad time. I really enjoy your post and perspective on this board. Don't let the crazies get you down. BTW, stay off that craigslist, it will rot yer brain.

Hopefully I'll be pushing up daisies by then, - or gallantly gallivanting about the Puget Sound on my yacht ! I'll keep plenty of muskets loaded and the jolly Roger will stay ready to hoist when the time arises ! Arrrg !
I'm renting out my larger places and living in a cheap scummy place to make money ! That's the price I have to pay for being greedy and wanting enough money to eat, pay taxes and keep the old 85 toyota rig running. !

They finally captured those pirates that were holding that ship and crew off Africa.
They tried to interrogate the captors but all they could get out of them was, Arrrrrrg !
