Default Best time to plant trees in the spring, Lincoln County

Hello,

I bought a couple of acres in Trego, Lincoln County (3400 ft elevation) ,(hoping to retire there in 30 some years), curious what the best time to plant bare root trees is in the spring. That is, when do the leaves start growing on trees? So I plant them before that time. Is it some time in April?

Thanks a lot.

Senia.

P.S. I love Northwestern Montana ))

Northscaping For Northern Gardeners, Landscapers And Homeowners

Hi, I am not on your side of the state but I have referenced this website for the shift in zone I am learning to garden in. Going from a 6-7 to a maybe 2-3 was a real change for me. Good luck and let us know what you find.
