Default Greenhorns with attitudes !

Young greenhorns with attitudes wont make many friends unless a bit of politeness is found within themselves. Montana folks love to hunt and Greenhorn newbies should think about what they say about hunting, mining, logging, and environmental issues on the Montana board or they may get pounded back so badly (unless a mod steps in of coarse) that the greenhorn's environmental issues will develop into mental issues !
Many hunters are also environmentalists, --- meat eating environmentalists !

Number one reason to move to Montana..Good Hunting and a culture that understands all that is involved with that responsibility. Of course if you are shooting it you are eating it.

Nice post elkslayin and we all can see the pictures in our imaginations.

As for your new-found admirer DesertMountainsDesert, you should probably invite him to go with you on your next trip into the deep dark woods - if you know what I mean!!

DesertMountainsDesert is on a distinguished road
I've been in Montana and it's very nice. I grew up in the hunting culture in Colorado and it's not so nice. I'm entitled to my opinion, just like everyone else. And no, I don't go around flipping off hunters. I'm a climber and hiker and enjoy the outdoors, I hate having autumn basically shut down because of the hunters. I've mountain biked during hunting season and nearly got shot, in spite of wearing tons of orange. Multiple use becomes single use during hunting season. I also love animals and prefer seeing them alive.

I know what you mean... Almost shot some lady jogging first thing in the morning with her dog, she was down hill through the trees from a buck we were gunning for. She picked up and left pretty quick once that shot was fired... and she got the full brunt of the muzzle blast too. Probably crapped her pants ! She did look pretty though dressed in all black spandex with a fancy little orange scarf. Real fashionable ! Had a black dog too with an orange dew rag tied around it's neck.

Problem I seen with the whole situation was instead of doing her thing in a more sensible place like on the main road or a camp ground at the bottom of the hill, she chose to be stupid and go 2/3 the way up in the Swans where all of the hunters were, dressed inappropriately and put herself in a potentially bad situation. That's like playing Russian Roulette !!!

Hunting season is a way of life for many and only lasts about 5 weeks, not a big sacrifice or long time to make adjustments to ones jogging, biking or hiking schedule !
